Have you ever been out working on a computer and realized that you've forgotten your trusty flash drive with all of your beloved tools and utilities on it? I've had that happen before and it's always frustrating to have to go online, find the utility that you need, and then download it. I have been a big fan of Sysinternal's tools, even before they were acquired by Microsoft.
For the past few months, the Sysinternal tools have been available online. So even if you forget your trusty flash drive, you can still use these utilities; all you need is an Internet connection. To access the utilities, just point Windows Explorer to \\live.sysinternals.com. You should then see a
few shares appear. If you open the Tools share, you will see a listing of all of the Sysinternals tools. Just copy the needed files or run them straight from the share. One thing I like about this is that when new tools are added, you will have immediate access to them, along with having the most up-to-date versions available.
