Error 1406 While Installing Office 2010

While installing Office 2010 Professional Plus today on a client PC, I received the following error message about halfway through the install:

Error 1406. Setup cannot write the value Class to the registry key \Software\Classes\CLSID\{0006F059-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\InprocServer32\

The install would not continue and had to be rolled back. After a reboot and some intial research, I discovered that the Sentinal HASP License Manager service was the cause of the problem. I tried stopping this service and restarting the install, but it still came up with the same error. After disabling the service and rebooting the machine, I was able to successfully complete the Office install.

If you run across this error and have another software package that has installed the Sentinal HASP License Manager, disabling it should take care of the problem.
